Pisa and San Gimignano

Your day  begins with a stop in Pisa, at one point this city was one of the most important Medieval maritime republics, with its most important monuments is a proof of its past power and wealth. You have the morning here to explore the famous Filed of Miracles square, there are several important monuments here to see such as the Duomo, and it’s Baptistery , naturally also the world famous Leaning Tower.  You have part of the morning here before move on in the countryside of Tuscany in to Chianti region.

Arriving to the town of SanGigmignano, one of the most imposing and best preserved medieval towns of Italy. The thirteen towers that dominate San Gimignano’s majestic skyline were built by noble families in the 12th and 13th century, when the town’s position, on the main pilgrim route from northern Europe to Rome, brought it great prosperity. The plague of 1348, and the diversion of the pilgrim’s route led to its decline, which, ironically, helped to preserve the town’s intact medieval aspect until today.
Your English speaking driver will pick you up from the port of Livorno in the morning and will take you back to the dock in the afternoon.
