Lucca and Bolgheri

Your English speaking driver will pick you up at the ship to drive to wine country of Bolgheri and the town of Lucca.

The tour begins with a stop in Lucca, a peaceful town enclosed by the wonderful Renaissance walls. Here you can explore the narrow streets of the historical center, see palaces and churches with vestige of Roman and Medieval age. Elegant boutiques, enchanting Romanesque churches, bright colored squares create more and more interesting and unexpected views in the eyes of every visitor. The most important sites are the San Martino Cathedral and the San Frediano church, as well as the Anfiteatro square and the Giunigi Tower.

After spending most of the morning here, your English speaking driver will take you towards the coast where you can visit the most enchanting wine region of Tuscany, Bolgheri. This is a region is the home to some of the most high-end and prestigious wines made in Italy. Along the cypress-lined road you will reach the small but charming village of Bolgheri, where we tale you among endless vineyards for you will sample some spectacular wines made here and of course olive oil tasting before ending your day and go back to the ship.

All rates are quoted in Euro funds. Payment in Euro and/or Euro traveler’s checks. Price includes English speaking driver for all the tour. Price does not include lunch, gratuities nor entrance fees. We can also offer you private Licensed guides who will give you all the possible information. Official Licensed guides are selected by us. Please dress respectfully for visiting religious monuments; local custom requires covering knees and shoulder. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.

Note: Because of security and lack of space in the port of La Spezia, all vehicles are forbidden from entering the port.
You would need to take a shuttle to exit the port and your driver will meet you where the shuttle stops.
