Your Italy ToursWith this tour you will trace the history of the glorious past of the Eternal City from the beginning to the end. You and your guide will walk through the monumental ruins and imposing buildings to understand the politics, religion and organization of ancient Rome.
First stop is the glorious Coliseum constructed 80 AD, now the symbol of the city and the Ancient world, then a visit to the Palatine hill to walk along the main road through the Roman Forum where the capital of the Ancient world was at the time. You will learn about the remaining monuments and the daily life, spending rest of the time here before climbing to the top of the Capitoline Hill for a final view of the ancient Rome.
Coming in from your cruise ship what you need to do is to just catch the fast train from the port of Civitavecchia in to the main station, Roma Termini, where your private guide will meet you and accompany you to the sites either by public transportation or walking. The guide can accompany you back if you wish.
