The tour has been designed for an active traveler who loves walking and wishes to get an overview of the most important Roman sights in a day coming in from the port.

Your tour starts with the glorious Ancient Rome, Coliseum and the Roman forum, where your private guide will bring this historical site alive for you and spend the morning learning about the ancient life. After spending part of the morning here, you will take a walk to the very heart of Rome centre to see the Pantheon, once Roman gods temple built by Emperor Hadrian before stopping for a quick lunch and heading over to the Vatican to discover the Vatican museums, Sistine chapel and the St Peter’s basilica.

Coming in from your cruise ship what you need to do is to just catch the fast train from the port of Civitavecchia in to the main station, Roma Termini, where your private guide will meet you and accompany you to the sites either by public transportation or walking. The guide can accompany you back if you wish.

Admission: Euro 26 per person to the Vatican + Euro 14 per person to the Coliseum
Availability: Everyday except Sunday as the Vatican will remain closed

Vatican tour from Civitavecchia

This is a tour that takes you to visit the home of the most astonishing art collection in the world which ranges from Ancient to Contemporary Art, and consists of 5 miles of corridors. During the tour walking through the galleries you will hear about the great Renaissance men that helped create the city we see today as well as delving into the phenomenal works that changed the course of Art forever leading to the most important part of the museum, Sistine Chapel. Your tour will end with St Peter’s basilica and St Peter’s square.

Coming in from your cruise ship what you need to do is to just catch the fast train from the port of Civitavecchia in to St Peter’s Station, where your private guide will meet you and accompany you to the sites either by public transportation or walking. The guide can accompany you back if you wish.

Please note: The Basilica of St Peter’s might close for last minute ceremonies or mass. We will try to inform you on time but it is not always possible. In this case we will decrease the price.

On Wednesdays the tour would be conducted in the afternoon as Basilica remain closed in the mornings.

Ancient Rome from Civitavecchia

With this tour you will trace the history of the glorious past of the Eternal City from the beginning to the end. You and your guide will walk through the monumental ruins and imposing buildings to understand the politics, religion and organization of ancient Rome.

First stop is the glorious Coliseum constructed 80 AD, now the symbol of the city and the Ancient world, then a visit to the Palatine hill to walk along the main road through the Roman Forum where the capital of the Ancient world was at the time. You will learn about the remaining monuments and the daily life, spending rest of the time here before climbing to the top of the Capitoline Hill for a final view of the ancient Rome.
